Smuggling Pumpkins

The signs are popping up that favorite time of year is finally here - the slight chill in the evening air (hooray for "sweater weather"!), darker evenings, and the Malmantine's annual Pumpkin Carving Party!

Last night Paul and I headed over to Clancy's Pumpkin patch to pick out our perfect carving palettes, and Paul even picked up a wee pumpkin for lil' Explosiva. We can't wait until next year when we have a little one to go pumpkin picking with!

Pumpkins in hand, we arrived at Casa Malmantine to a festive display of Halloween treats, glowing candles, all the pumpkin carving supplies you could ever need, and even the perfect mood music (Thriller, anyone?). The mulled brandy and wine were flowing (no, not for ME, silly!), spirits were high, and the creativity was abundant. Some channeled their creativity in their pumpkin carving, Constee and Nat channeled it in their pumpkin painting...

I mean, really, how could anyone NOT love this time of year?!?!
